Method deploys final portal

Method are celebrating today the launch of the final portal created in the first version of its valuation management system. The QC Portal allows Methods experienced Quality Control Review Staff to assess whether a valuation report meets the requirements set out in a lenders Valuer Guidance Notes (VGNs). Method QC Review Staff are RICS Registered Valuers with at least 10 years post qualification experience.

Operations Director, Niall Deas, said

“We view the QC review process as a fundamental part of our service offering. We do not provide audits of valuations prior to lending as we have been advised that such audits by third parties can complicate matters in the case of negligent valuations by introducing an element of Contributory Negligence. To prevent this and to stop our clients being at risk of not being able to recover losses, we do not verify a valuers figures or facts, what we can do however is say whether or not a report makes sense to an experienced valuer and whether it appears to meet the lenders valuation requirements set out in their VGNs”.

The deployment of this portal completes the deployment of the 6 portals that form the heart of Method’s valuation management system that has taken place over the last 6 months. Method now intends to use the next few months to refine the portals before a formal launch of the system as a whole package later this year.
